Genesis House
Our Story
Genesis House is a Female Residential Rehabilitation and Resource Center in Lagos that supports vulnerable young women within the ages of 18-30 years old who have been sexually exploited. The Genesis House program is designed to offer effective and sustainable solution to the alarming rates of human and sex trafficking, commercial sex work,, sexual abuse and exploitation of young women in Nigeria.
At the Genesis House, we understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Therefore, the program is tailored to deliver client-specific solutions in an intensively therapeutic and highly supportive environment that provides physical, emotional and vocational support that they need to get their lives back on track.
Genesis House’s mode of intervention is Rehabilitation, Education and Empowerment, which is broken down into 5 stages over 12 – 18 months, encompassing counseling, therapy, social & educational enrichment, vocational job training and job placement assistance towards economic self-sufficiency. This is highlighted in our Beneficiary Journey Map below
Our sustainable success requires the collaborative efforts of all, and we seek support through cash or in-kind donation, recruitment of volunteers/mentors and corporate partnerships.
